Privacy

The short version: almost nothing.

No account, no login, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no data sold or shared. The only personal data this project holds is what you type into a form and send us on purpose.

What we collect

Form submissions. If you use the join form or the contact form, we receive what you typed: your name, email, country, role, any link you added and your message. That is the whole set. We use it to reply to you and, where you asked to be featured, to credit you.

Nothing else. Browsing these pages does not create an account, set a tracking cookie, or build a profile of you.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled on this site, they are privacy-friendly and cookieless (Plausible or Fathom), producing only aggregate counts — pages viewed, referrer, country, device type. No cross-site tracking, no individual profiles, no data sold to anyone, and nothing that could identify you personally.

Maintainer: state here exactly which analytics provider is live, or delete this section if none is. If you ever add Google Analytics instead, this paragraph must change — GA4 has a materially different privacy profile and saying otherwise would be a false statement on a site whose entire premise is honesty.

Third parties we rely on

  • Static hosting and DNS (Cloudflare Pages) — serves these files, terminates the encrypted connection, and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period.
  • Form provider (Formspree or equivalent) — receives and stores your form submission so it can be delivered to us.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google’s servers, which sees the request.
  • Streaming and social platforms — only when you click through to them. Their own policies apply from that point on.

To remove the Google Fonts dependency entirely, self-host the font files — see the README, “Self-hosting the fonts”.

How long we keep it

Form messages are kept while the campaign is active, so we can honour credits and answer follow-ups. Ask us to delete yours and it is gone within the same week — no explanation needed, no attempt to talk you out of it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and equivalent laws you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, and ask for deletion. One email does all of it: privacy@children-of-gaza.org.

Children

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If a young person has sent us a form, tell us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes

If this policy changes, the change is dated here. Substantive changes are announced on the site rather than slipped in quietly.

Before launch, add the operator’s legal name and postal contact address here — most jurisdictions require it (in Germany, the Impressum duty applies, and a separate /impressum.html page is the conventional way to satisfy it). If in doubt, take fifteen minutes of legal advice: this project’s credibility is its only asset.
